Location. The Baylis House Hotel is located in Slough, England within 500 metres of the city centre and train station, four miles from Windsor Castle and 20 miles from central London. Heathrow airport is seven miles away.
Hotel Features. Built in 1696, Baylis House Hotel is a Grade 1 listed property, combining Georgian and contemporary features amid four acres of landscaped gardens. Amenities include a hair salon, beauty services, security guard and complimentary parking. A concierge service is available with multilingual staff on hand to assist with travel and tourist arrangements.

Seasons Restaurant offers an extensive Indian menu served in a modern decor with views of the gardens. Weddings and other special functions can be catered for in the large banqueting hall.

State of the art business amenities include audio-visual equipment, wireless Internet access and conference rooms able to accommodate up to 600 people. Cell phone rental, secretarial services and IT support are also available.

A range of recreational activities are on offer in the vicinity including golf, boating and horse riding.

Guestrooms. The 40 guestrooms are equipped with satellite television, direct-dial telephone, safe and wireless Internet. Bathrooms have a combined shower and bath, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries.

Expert Tip. With its origins dating to the time of William the Conqueror, not only is Windsor Castle the largest residential castle in the world, but it also has the longest record of continuous habitation. St George's Chapel contains the tomb of Henry VIII and Charles I. Sections of the castle are closed to the public during part of the year, so visitors are advised to check admission dates.

From London Heathrow Airport (LHR):
Distance to Baylis House Hotel is 7 miles, approximately 12 minutes' drive.

Getting there. The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from Terminal 1, 2 and 3 at 5 GBP per person. Taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is approximately 10 GBP.

Getting around. Trains run from Slough to Paddington Station in London throughout the day and fares cost approximately 7 GBP. The London Underground (Tube) and buses are the easiest ways to travel within London. Single tickets are expensive, but an electronic Oyster card offers a cheaper fare. Oyster cards can be purchased from ticket offices for 3 GBP (refundable). Daily or weekly travel passes are the most economical way to travel, and are valid on buses, trams, trains, and DLR, as well as on the Underground. Black taxis are available on the streets, but can be expensive. Driving is not recommended for visitors and a congestion charge zone is operated in central London.
