Hotel Rex - Livorno

A fantatic spot next to the rocks for snorkelling swimming-great for parents with kids who love this stuff but want some safety because it's in an enclosed little cove. The hotel was clean and comfortable and has fantastic views. The place had a lovely sixties feel about it -the decor,the art ,the piano bar..a perfectly preserved gem of vintage chic..

On the whole, the hotel was okay. The decor of the room was dated but the bathroom was nice with a nice shower. Our door was broken and we could not shut it, it was fixed but not till the next morning. We were asked to hand over our passports on arrival(even although we had paid in full), when we checked out, we forgot to ask for them back and they never gave us them, we had a swim in the sea and returned to give our towels back and they still didnt remind us, we had to return to hotel rex from florence at 5 am the next day as we were about to miss our flight, very expensive!and a round trip of 5 hours. The staff were unhelpful and had a bad attitude, including the breakfast staff.The restaurant where we ate our breakfast looked lovely and new and there is a great terrace to eat on with a perfect view of the sea. The beach was made of concrete and jam packed with loungers, but the water was crystal clear and has a blue flag. The staff at the beach bar and life guards were much more polite and friendly. The hotel is okay to stay in for a few days, but the unfriendly and bad attitude of the staff may test your patience!

Really enjoyed 4 nights in this Hotel (Last week in June), only problem we found was the staff spoke little English so we needed to use a translation book a lot. The Hotel is not very close to anything apart from a Restraunt next door which was expensive and maily fish on the menu. The nearest other restraunt and shops where 2.5 miles away (I know that exactly because we had sat nav) and a big supermarket called (coop) about 5 - 7 mins away by car. Would not reccomend unless you have a hire car or are prepared to pay for taxis. I would also reccomend a room with a sea view as its amazing! And rooms on the back of hotel would hear a lot of traffic noise from very busy road and trains up and down a lot. Sunbeds were free to hotel guests and there was a snack bar which was good and cheap. Room was cleaned and sheets/towels changed every day).

een gedateerd hotel buiten livorno, aan zee echter alles is steen en rots, zouden een wke up call krijgen echter dat waren ze vergeten, een lunch apkket omdat we vroeg vertrokken was niet meer dan een cracker, zeker geen 4 sterren waard!

Det er et pænt hotel. Gode værelser, men en skrækkelig kaffe til morgenmaden.

Moderne hotell med flott beliggenhet og privat strand. Godt utgangspunkt for sightsing med bil. God bussforbindelse til Livorno. Nydelig mat.

Hotel had een zeer goede ligging. Ontbijtbuffet was goed, maar niet veel keus voor buffet. De kamer waren prima in orde en zeer net. Bij inchecken van 2 kamers met balkon en zeezicht werd ons eerst een gewone kamer gegeven, doch hadden dit gereserveerd. Na overleg aan de desk hebben we dan toch de juiste kamer gekregen. De rest was in orde.
