Hotel Romana Residence - Milão

The room was huge - had two full bathrooms and a living room. Can't beat the location for the price. Not too much to do in the immediate area at night, but it's close to all the touristy stuff. Ask about the cost of overnight parking - could be in for a surprise when you check out (like we were!). Would stay there again.

I loved this hotel. Firstly, we got a great room overlooking a very beautiful garden and the room itself was very roomy and spacious, atypical for European hotels. It even had a kitchen! (And no, it wasn't any fancy suite, it was just a regular hotel room for an excellent price!). The location of the hotel is great, a very quiet neighbourhood yet very well located since a walk to the Duomo area is around 15 minutes or so depending on how fast you walk... however since Milan is a pretty big city you'll probably need to take a tram to get to other parts , and whats great about the hotel is that a tram passes right infront of it. Nice staff, well kept and clean hotel and very very comfortable. I would definitely reccomend this hotel to anybody going to Milan!

The hotel oeverall was great, good location, clean, nice staff, decent breakfast. The Elevetor was quite small though. It open and close so quickly so person need to get on very quickly. Also everytime someone uses water or shower, it smelled a bit odd. I think it is from the pipe or old tank.

The only complaint is the room was very noisy, being on a busy street. We should have insisted on an inside room. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice, central location and the staff very helpful. We enjoyed the nice, quiet bar.

everything fine but it felt like stepping back into the 1980s in this large corporate anonymous hotel. To be fair the staff were friendly and the breakfast was generous

The room provided was not as expected having seen the photo gallery before booking. Having just left a Junior Suite in Florence this room definitely did not fall under this category it was more like a self catering apartment. Saw other rooms think this must be given to last minute travellers like us.Curtains falling off and blackout blind didnt open, noisy air con. Would not hurry back to room 557.

Our room was not a pleasant surprise for a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was fixed with brown tape, a part of the shower was dropped on the bath floor, black hairs here and there (including the shower cap), stains, broken doors, very loud toilet, almost impossible to use faucet etc. On the other hand the breakfast was excellent, the receptionists were very nice and a subway stop nearby. No restaurants open in a few kilometer radius in August..

Not too far from the centre and within walking distance of many attractions. Th rooms are tidy, if not over large. facilities are limited, the bar closing at 10.30pm is a disapointment. Good links and staff are friendly and helpfull. I would use this Hotel again.

You can not fault this hotel, it was clean, tidy, helpful staff, good price and the breakfast was good. However we booked this hotel for its location (two friends on a shopping trip, so wanted to be close to main streets- Around the duomo) the hotel description says that it is 400 metres away, but it took us at least 15 minutes to walk and i would estimate just under a mile distance following the route the hotel advised. this was a bit of a shame however the metro is just outside the hotel and is cheap, easy and very handy (We did not feel unsafe on this metro once and would reccommend it to others) As a word of advice Milan is not as big as it appears and everything is very close by once you reach the Dumo and if you can be situated as close to this as possible you will have a great stay although a little pricey!!!!

We spent 2 nights here in a tour of Italy august '08. We got the room on a cut price deal and we were happy to get a functional, comfy room with good ensuite facilities and good air-con! Nothing flashy but the inclusive breakfast buffet was a highlight, a good way to save money being overfeeding yourself in order to tide you over until dinner!

Enjoyed our stay. Helpful, courteous staff. Good standard of furnishings in room. Good choice of hot & cold breakfast. Very close to Metro & only 2 stops to Duomo.

This hotel was very conveniently located - about a block to the metro and about a 10 minute walk to the Duomo area. The room was very clean and comfortable - particularly compared to other European-style hotels I have stayed in. The hotel also had a very good breakfast buffet, with elements from both European and American style breakfasts.

Really good location, wakable distance to Duomo and all the shops but just as easy to catch a tram. Staff at hotel are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is wonderful to get you started for the day, rooms are really clean just found the bed a bit hard but it wouldn't stop me from going again.

the room was clean and well presented, nothing spectacular, more suited to business travellers. breakfast was better than that offered by most italian hotels. the staff were very nice - made us cappucinos at 1am!

We researched a number of hotels before deciding on Hotel Romana Residence, and were more than thrilled with our choice. It is easy walking distance from all the great sights to see in Milan. The hotel bar and breakfast were awesome. The restaurant next to the hotel had incredible Italian food. Everyone was pleasant and we definitely would stay again.

A great staff, very attentive to needs. Nice bar, big indoor outdoor restaurant. Stayed in regular room & junior suite, all have stovetop and fridge with mini bar. Nice big shower over bathtub. Newly renovated and very clean.

The Hotel Romana Residence is perfectly placed for a weekend in Milan. Within walking distance of the Duomo and on the number 94 bus route from the train station. Beds were very comfortable and clean and the hotel staff were very helpful even when we tried our limited Italian on them.

Everything was wonderful, location, staff, cleanliness and breakfast. The only problem we had was with the maintenance of the building. AC did not work nor the window shades

The hotel breakfast is about the best thing. The staff in charge of breakfast were really helpfull and pleasant. The rooms are not impressive and not that clean. The tv has one english channel which is news channel. The air con has been out of service for months and from a four star hotel you would at least expect an iron in the room! The fridge has some drinks scattered in there and the peanuts were past the sell by date. Not impressed at all with that! If anyone manages to get more than two people in the lifts then let me know how.

Hotel Romana Residence is good actually, pretty close to the Duomo, can take tram 16 or walk from Duomo. the lobby was lovely, kingsize room was comfort, the only downside was the restaurant was a bit small, need to wait for a table for breakfast at around 9am. But, the hotel was good overall, and deserves a 4* ranking.

I stayed here nearly twenty years ago at the start of a three year secondment to Milan - it was good then, and lived up to my expectations when returning to visit the city for the first time with our two children. It was good value and quite central, being only two stops from Piazza Duomo on the yellow metro line. It was clean and comfortable with a mini bar, good sized bath towells and a strong shower. Staff were smiling and helpful. My only crticism is that we were travelling with children aged 7 and 10 and they were unable to even give us two rooms on the same floor, although we had specifically requested rooms next to one another. All in all it was a good trip and we would go back.

Hotel was in great condition, breakfast was good variety, junior suites good sized particularly for Europe, staff friendly and helpful. Within 5 blocks of the Duamo and smaller shops in the immediate neighborhood. Resturaunts within a few blocks. Metro within 1 block. I stayed at this hotel and the Marriott while in Milan. The Marriott is larger and a bit more luxurious, but this boutique style hotel was much more convienent and less money.

Large room compared to others in Europe. Very comfortable. Electric blinds on windows to ensure dark room for sleeping. Very nice public areas, also. Lifts are small, so be prepared to make multiple trips for multiple people when moving in and out. We got to the hotel before check-in time but they had our room prepared for us in less than an hour.

My room was beautifully decorated, clean, quiet. The desk clerk was friendly and very helpful (suggested a very good and affordable restaurant). The hotel is within walking distance of the the city center, including the Duoma, LaScala. Best of all, they have free and convenient internet service!

Location was excellent for access to Duomo and shopping. The hotel was very comfortable, the staff was helpful, and I thought it was a very good buy for the money. I was very pleased with my choice.

This Hotel deserves a 3* rating. Absolutely not a 4*

Le séjour était vraiment génial. J'y retourne dès que je peux. L'hotel est idéalement placé et le service est très bien. Je recmmande.

Hotel proche du Duomo, le personnel est sympathique. le ptit dej est tres correct egalement. en ce qui concerne la chambre, nous avons été upgradés donc je ne sais pas à quoi correspond la chambre standard. en tous cas, la suite que nous avions etait extraordinaire!!!

Hotellet ligger centralt og i gå afstand til det meste, men man skal ikke forvente det store til hotellet. Slidte værelser samt hotel. Morgenbuffeen var fin.

Η θέση του ξενοδοχείου είναι άριστη. 10 λεπτά με τα πόδια από το Duomo και 100 μέτρα από το metro. Το ξενοδοχείο είναι παλιό με ανακαινισμένα τα δωμάτια. Οι κοινόχρηστοι χώροι είναι ανύπαρκτοι. Ο χώρος υποδοχής μικρός. Τα 2 ασανσέρ είναι τόσο μικρά που μπαίνεις με το πλάι. Η φιλοξενία ζεστή, το πρωινό καλό. Έκλεισα μέσω internet χωρίς πρόβλημα. Τιμές λογικές για όσα προσφέρει.

Centralt beliggende. Tæt på metrostation. Rart område. Gåafstand til seværdigheder og forretninger. Fint morgenbord.

God morgenmad. God betjening. Ligger dejligt centralt.

Bra mellan klass hotell med närhet till det mesta. Bra service och stor frukostbuffé med italienska mått mätt.

bon hotel bien situé , près du Duomo chambre pas très grande , mais propre et sympathique petit déjeuner international très complet parking un peu cher , mais voiture en sécurité A Milan il ,'y a pas grand chose à voir , mais une escapade sur le lac lajeur ou le lac de Come vous permet de passer une excellente journée

De centrale ligging van het hotel was erg prettig als je Milaan graag te voet wilt bekijken. Een slechte zaak dat je een plek in de parkeergarage apart moet betalen. Verder was het ontbijt zeer uitgebreid en lekker, de ontbijtkamer ook knus ingericht. De kamer van verblijf eenvoudig en schoon. Een gemis was echter een apart bedje voor onze baby.

Accueil pas très pro et peu chaleureux. Petit déj très bien. Chambre spacieuse et agréable. Près du Centre pour les visites.

Fint hotel med meget god service. Ligger også fint (tager 10 min. at gå til centrum). God morgenmad. Alt i alt en rigtig god oplevelse. Bestemt et hotel der er værd at besøge igen.

Detta hotell har det man vill ha av ett 4 stjärnigt hotell. Kanske att rummen var lite slitna och inte nyligen omgjorda men vad gör det när allt känns rent och helt ändå. Servicekänslan var bra vilket uppvägde att det inte var nyrenoverat. Ett hotell som jag tycker lagom långt från Duomo'n.

Personnel peu acceuillant. La première chambre ayant un frigo en panne et aucuns couverts, on doit insister pour en avoir une autre. On nous donne finalement la gamme au dessus, mais avec climatiseur HS, ampoules HS et stores HS. Petit déjeuner de piètre qualité. Ne mérite pas ses étoiles. A fuir.

Service in the reception was very good. Room standard was definitely not 4 star standard, maybe 2. The women in charge for the breakfast were more interested to go home that serve the guests.
