Palais De La Mediterranee - Nice

Stayed for 2 nights in August 2009. We had a wonderful stay, the service in the hotel was excellent and staff were very attentive and spoke excellent English. The room was beautiful and the bed comfortable with lots of creature comforts - the one exception being a kettle. Instead they had an espresso machine which made very good coffee (according to my boyfriend) but as I don't like coffee myself I would have preferred a kettle and some teabags. Anyway, a minor gripe in what was otherwise an excellent stay. My only other comment would be that breakfast was not included and was very expensive at €19-27 per person. Also the hotel has a private section of the beach opposite, but it does cost €17 per person to use it, which seemed a little steep to me given what we had already paid for the room itself. Instead, we used the hotel pool (free for guests) which was superb, in sunshine for almost the whole day, had excellent poolside waiter service and delicious cocktails! Overall, I would recommend the hotel and had a great stay here - it just wasn't very easy on the bank balance!

Concierge was very helpful. Loved the indoor/outdoor pool. Staff was bilengual, friendly, and always willing to help. Hotel location is amazing.

Best location in Nice. Right in the center of the Promenade. Best hotel pool in Nice too with their 1/2 indoor, 1/2 outdoor swimming pool, so you can go for shade or sun while swimming. I was traveling with my 3 year-old and we forgot the stroller at home but the concierge let us have a stroller for free for our whole stay. The staff and especially the concierge were great and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is fantastic! Don't get me wrong, you pay for what you get as its not cheap, but the facilities, service and comfort are worthy of 5 stars. Staff bend over backwards, sea view rooms are great and the heated indoor / outdoor pool is lovely. Top Hotel!

NOT even close to a 5 star hotel

After a long day of train travel we were blown away by the location and amenities of this hotel. The sea view room is worth the price...every room has the most spectacular view of the water. For being on the main drag noise was not a problem at all. Beach access is expensive but worth it as well... you are very well taken care of at their beach club, however you can't charge back to the room so bring Euros. If you go to the Piano bar try a Banana Moon cocktail...wonderful! Service start to finish was top notch...a wonderful experience.

I decided to book the Palais De La Mediterranee after reading favourable reviews and getting an excellent price on the room. The hotel is conveniently located on the Promenade d'Anglais and close to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is deceptive as it is built behind a facade which makes it look grander than it is and from the back it is a bit of a sixties block. However the reception area is suitably impressive. We had a twin room on the 5th floor which looked out at the back of the hotel, but for the price we paid it was fine. The room was lovely and clean, however the loo flusher wasn't working properly which was a bit of an issue. The bar area was OK if a little dark and dingy. We went in March so we couldn't sit on the terrace, but on a hot summer's day, I'm sure it is lovely out there. The only other things to mention is that there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, and the extortionate room service prices were off putting. Also as it was my mother's 80th birthday I called the hotel to request flowers in the room and was told that would cost 40 euros. Well we were only there for three days and could hardly take them home with us, so it was a shame it couln't have been done as a gesture of goodwill. However the staff were incredibly helpful, the concierge was great as were the check in staff.

In a great position on the sea front. We had a city view room which had a great view, but I think it helped being on the ninth floor. It is expensive to buy a drink in the bar but if you are prepared for that its in a lovely setting. The pool was lovely and we appreciated being able to go indoors or outdoors as it was a blustery day. We walked miles round the Nice area and loved being able to come back and have a sauna or steam to get rid of any aches and pains. I would stay here again.

No room coffee pot- had to order room service just for coffee. Excessive charge to use the beach facilities.

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to restaurants and sightseeing. Our room was large and beautiful with a great bathroom. Be sure to bring a swimsuit for the indoor-outdoor pool. We did not try the restaurant but it looked very nice.

The location was great. It was a very nice place. The biggest rooms I have seen in France. The only problems were that they water temperature in the shower went from hot to cold. The other thing was that we went to check in at 2pm and we could not get into a room until 3pm. Other than that, very nice place. Across street from beach, walk to shopping areas and lots of dinner places. Very clean and classy.

A very warm and personal welcome awaited us when we arrived at the hotel. Everything was fantastic, the location, the room, the food, the views, the staff, the concierge, room service - in fact everything. I will be going back - it is the best hotel in Nice.

Très agréable, luxueux, confortable, calme. Hammam et sauna d'une très grande propreté. Personnel très à l'écoute et disponible Petit déjeuner sur la terrasse magnifique nous avons été fasciné oui il porte bien son nom : c'est "UN PALAIS"

Excellent hotel, personnel impeccable, equipement au top etc...

non so' se era una offerta particolare ma il costo non e' assolutamente rapportato al prodotto: costo VERAMENTE contenuto e prodotto con una nota di eccellenza.tutti i servizi publicizzati sono realmente disponibili(non succede quasi mai)oltre alla cordialita'(strano per dei francesi)e alla disponibilita' per qualsiasi richiesta. solo due piccoli nei evitabili:il bar dell'albergo e' forse un po' troppo caro anche se molto caratteristico e ATTENZIONE al frigobar: appeni tocchi(anche solo x guardare)qualsiasi cosa,viene immediatamente messa in conto anche se non si ha consumato e dopo si perde un minimo tempo x aggiustare le cose.
