Best Western Bondeheimen Hotel - Oslo

I was impressed with this hotel. It's hard to find reasonably priced acommodation in Central Oslo. The discount on the canteen food made them good value in Oslo terms for an evening meal, too. Free internet in the lobby was a handy perk. staff were friendly and helpful, although a little non-plussed when I asked where wwas a good route to go for a run in the city!

The hotel's location was perfect. Right in the city centre but very quiet. Staff were very polite, check in & out was the quickest its ever been. Very stress free stay. Only concern was the room was quite small. Other than that I couldnt recommend the hotel highly enough.

This hotel was OK but the breakfast buffet on Sunday was dreadful. The scrambled eggs were like rubber, the streaky bacon was floating in a sea of fat and the boiled egg was like a bullet. The bread is very good and the limited range of cold meats was also Ok, but avoid the cooked food. Also make sure you check that your door is locked when you leave the room. The door does NOT LOCK automatically, you need to flick the inside door lock on and off for the locking mechanism to work when you close the door on leaving the room. Overall I would recommend this hotel it’s a great location and good standard rooms at a reasonable price

Friendly, helpful staff. Room was very quiet when window was closed.

Arriving with my fiancee after a long flight from Asia, we were told the hotel was overbooked. We were asked to stay at a hotel outside Oslo, which we declined and was offered two single rooms for the night, despite having booked a superior room at superior price. Next day when asking when we could change room, we were told the new room would not be ready before late afternoon, but that we had to vacate the two single rooms asap. Asking if they could help with the luggage (we had a lot), we were told NO, don't provide this service, so we lugged everything down to reception, four hours later we lugged it up again to our so called superior room. Apart from this problem, the breakfast room is always full, so one has to Que., It is also an alcohol free hotel, something they should let potential guests know about. But the main issue, an utterly ghastly service! Oslo has a lot of nice hotels, this is not one of them!

Nice hotel. It was a little expensive for my budget, but considering you get a nice breakfast in the mornings the price turns out to be a very good deal. The room was small (to be expected) but comfortable. No tub or shower ledge meant your entire bathroom floor would get wet when you took a shower. Overall very nice, considering its in Oslo and the price, it was a very good deal.

Right in the heart of everything and has a cute little Norwegian restaurant on the first floor.

The room was very nice. Everything was clean, location in the city was wonderful, and breakfast was great. The only complaint we would have is that the hotel was very hot, there was no air conditioning in the room and the city of Oslo was suffereing through a heat wave. We were SO hot and there was no where to go for relief. Other than the heat we thought the room was very nice and the price was fair compared to may others.

Lovely place and hotel. Just don't get a room on the west side. There is a night club right across the street. The breakfast and the meals in the cafe next door are excellent value in a very expensive city. The exhibitions and museums are wonderful. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about local transport and Oslo.

A nice, comfy room with a LARGE bathroom. Very friendly & courteous staff. Would def. stay there again & recommend to my friends!

Hotel recently refurbished. Good central location. The single room is quite small but tidy and clean. Good value for money.

The hotel had a traditional charm with basic but very clean and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was a very filling, delicious traditional meal.

This is really a first-class little hotel in a great area...super easy to find and close to the central terminal. The room was beautiful, and the free breakfast was fabulous and had hot food! not just some crusty rolls and cheese. Top notch.

Very good position,excellent condition

There was construction going on in the neighborhood from 1 am to 5 am, so that made it a bit difficult to sleep. Hotel was very modern and clean though and even my single room on the 5th floor had plenty of space and good amenities.

As good a bargain as you'll find in Oslo. Brilliant location. Lack of late check out my only criticism.

This hotel featured the best modern comforts that the chain Best Western aim to provide and at a very good price. The reception staff were very accommodating, the room was relaxing and contempararily furnished and the breakfsat buffet very good. The surprise was the history of the hotel and its realtionship to literary figures from Oslo's past, giving the hotel a deeper charm than other chains. In addition the location was convenient to all central locations

Room was clean, hotel was in a very good location, but my GOD Oslo is expensive. For almost two hundred dollars I got, basically, a cot in a room with a bathroom. But I didn't go to Oslo to hang in my hotel, so it did the job for the one night and it was about the cheapest I could find in the area. Won't do it again though.

Location great - half way down Karl JohansGate and 2 mins away from the turn off but whilst it's great that the hotel is in a historic building, I felt that the hotel and my room were quite dated (but not in a good way). A bit basic too. Breakfast was ok (not as good as in some other Oslo restaurants) but I was going to eat in the restaurant at night (buffet style) but it didn't look very appetising.

The location of this hotel was very convenient right off Karl Johanns Gate, close to the National Theater train and T-bane station and to the bus line, but it was noisy at night. The double room was clean, but very small - even by European standards. However, considering Oslo prices, it was still a good room for the money.

The Location was great and the staff were friendly and accommodating. My shower was broken and after I complained it was fixed the next day. There was no airconditioning in the hotel and the day I arrived had been quite hot. The room was like a sauna, I had to sleep with the windows open all night, but was kept awake by the noise of traffic and rubbish trucks unloading. A collegue who's room was on the otherside of the hotel also had to open the windows was kept awake by seagulls. Other than that the rooms were clean but the singles were very small, reminded me of my student days, it was like a cell!

A good hotel in a central location. There was a good selection of food and drink available for breakfast, though it would have benefitted from a greater selection of fresh fruit. The range of TV channels available is limited, with only one english-speaking TV channel (CNN). The room was clean and a good size, and the bed was very comfortable, but despite this sleep was difficult because of the continuous audible warning noise throughout the night from the pedestrian crossing outside the hotel. Be warned - take a set of earplugs with you!

This hotel is an excellent value for the money. The location is in central Oslo, and is only one block from the main street. The train station is perhaps half a mile in one direction, and the harbor half a mile in another. A three-blocks walk takes you to a major bus/tram stop and suburban train stop. The hotel serves an excellent breakfast, included in the price, and there are two computers for customers' use in the lobby. I definitely will stay in the same hotel again if I find myself in Oslo.

Staff were friendly and everything ran smoothly for the 2 nights we stayed. The room we were allocated was massive and would have been classified as a suite in most other hotels.

This was my 3rd stay at this hotel I stayed in Sept of 99 and Oct of 03 all three stays were really good, the location in Oslo is really perfect just a few blocks from the National Theater subway stop. The buffet breakfast is also excellent (I am not always up that early so I don't go every morning) The rooms are clean on comfortable by european standards but US travelers will think the room is very small a twin room has 2 twin beds also standard in most of europe. Just and FYI this hotel is excellent for GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgendered) tavelers as it close to most of the bars and cafe's that serve our community.

The desk staff was outstanding; extremely helpful as well as friendly. The included breakfast was fit for a king and could easily carry you through until dinner.

Although the reception staff was efficient, we believe that they tended to be somewhat aloof and not completely knowledgeable about Oslo. For example, when we asked about a certain transportation, we were given misinformation as to the cost and no mention was given as to senior citizen discounts. The breakfast offered was very nice. However, there was not enough staff to clean the tables from guests who had already eaten. As a result, one often had to remove dirty dishes and trays.

Good location within easy walkind distance to transportation, restaurants etc.

This is a good value for Oslo - famous for expensive almost everything. The hotel is not particularly stylish, but is well located, relatively quiet and a good choice if your focus is on basic quality. The staff is very helpful. It is located away from the drug trafficing around the train station; but a reasonably healthy person could roll a suitcase to the hotel without a strain.

The location leaves nothing to wish for, being situated smack bang in the heart of the city! The service and overall impression is however very, very basic, be well aware of that. Just as the fact that the hotel is "alcohol free", impossible to get a beer in the minibar or reception after a hard days work in other words.

Tram noices rather loud in th room. Window from my room was facing a brick wall in few meters distance so can not compliment the view!

Hotelet var veldig koselig og veldig central ret i miten fra shopping area. Frokost var god og alt var bra ( sorry men min norsk er ikke så bra )

Tolle Lage, sehr zentral gelegen. Dadurch war Samstag Nacht in Richtung Rosenkrantz Gate bis morgens um 3:30 sehr laut, wegen der nahelegenden Disco. Freundliches Personal, geräumige Zimmer mit allem Wichtigen und etwas mehr.

Helt Ok hotell, små enkeltrom, men bra frokost.

Fint rom, god (men litt smal) seng. Godt med nok plastglass og håndkleær. Rolig, rent og ordentlig, hyggelig betjening i resepsjon. Litt trangt ved frokosten søndag morgen og litt stresset betjening, men bra mat. Flott og sentral beliggenhet på hotellet, men vi var glad vi hadde rom med vindu mot stille bakgård.

På Bondeheimen er det alltid en rolig og hjemmekoselig stemning. Rommene er helt topp, og beliggenheten midt i Oslo sentrum kan ikke være bedre. I tillegg er kaffistova et viktig moment for at jeg velger Bondeheimen. Til frokosten er det et rikholdig utvalg av hjemmebakt brød, og påleggsutvalget består av lokale, nasjonale og internationale varer. Og til lunch kan man kjøpe blant annet byens beste suppe. Hyggelig betjening både på kaffistova og i resepsjonen gjør at jeg helt sikkert kommer til å benytte meg av Bondeheimen igjen

Near Karl Johans gate and central train station made this a convenient and surprisingly comfortable stay for my last day in Oslo. It was a simple walk to pick up the bus to the airport and the staff was always very helpful.

Keurig hotel, gelegen op loopafstand van het centraal station en het Nationaal Theater. Alle leuke en belangrijke punten zijn te bewandelen of binnen 5 minuten zijn er tram, trein en bus -verbindingen. Vriendelijk hotel, ook voor (oudere) kinderen. Uitstekende bedden en prettige badkamer. Goede front-desk service. Heerlijk uitgebreid ontbijt. Kortom, een perfecte locatie voor site-seeing Oslo.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und man kann die ganze Innenstadt fußläufig erreichen. Auch die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel liegen ganz in der Nähe. Dafür gibt es keine Parkmöglichkeiten. Da um das Hotel viele Lokalitäten sind, ist es bis spät in der Nacht sehr laut. Das Zimmer war funktionell und ordentlich, die Dusche großzügig. An der Rezeption waren zwei Internetplätze, das Personal dort war freundlich. Im Fernsehen gab es keinen brauchbaren Kanal in deutscher Sprache. Das Frühstück war sehr üppig und gut. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel, vor allem wegen der guten Lage.
