Hotel Prim - Mexico - Mexico City

The service at Hotel Prim is wonderful. The staff is ready to please. The location is the best. Close to everything. Here's the bad part, their continental free breakfast consist of half a piece of fruit, two slices of toast, coffee/tea & a 4oz of oj. Not enough food. Clean rooms.

Depending on the purpose of each one and taking into account the cost of a room per night, this hotel exceeded expectations. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, but best of all its employees are all very nice, friendly, kind and helpful. Yes I would recommend it. By the way, the Piano Bar at the old style is pleasant, with excellent musicians and singers. "Congratulations to all"

This hotel offers an outstanding location and many amenities. It is close to the theater, tourist areas, and public transportation. The rooms are clean and the restaurant is reasonably priced. The staff is welcoming and helpful. In fact, this is the third year I have stayed here and I have always been very satisfied.

clean hotel, good music in lounge. nothing super fancy, but was a decent stay for the price....

Humble, but clean, and the location and price are outstanding. Rooms are spartan (nothing fancy), but staff is conscientious.

Hotel Prim was very excellent for me and my family. The service and the staff was great. The only thing we did not like was the service in the hotel's restaurant. The great thing was that the hotel had their own taxi and tour services. We had a great tour guide that showed us around the most important attractions in the city. I would recommend this hotel for families who want to visit Mexico.

Rooms need upgrade as well as the hotel itself. Employees are very accomodating and well trainned. Restaurant is fairly good. Considering what you pay, it is a very good buy. Do not expect champagne while on a beer budget. Would I use it again? Yes if I cannot afford a better hotel

Very good service! I had a large room with two bathrooms for one low price. The staff was very helpful and they kept my room clean while I was there. I agree it needs some updating but the service and the price make up for it.

Nice Quiet street not far from about anything you would need or want. Metro stop not far away (Cuatamoc) that will get you right to Chapultpec Park. Good street food and some nice little markets - Hotel staff was helpful and friendly and I would definately stay there again

This place is an incredible bargain in a fabulous location. The staff was very helpful with everything, including a prompt wakeup call and a taxi waiting for me at 3:30 in the morning even though all of the electricity was off in the entire neighborhood. It is walking distance to the Zona Rosa, my room was clean and neat, and the restaurant was moderately priced, too. Don't hesitate to book this hotel! I will definitely stay here on my next visit!

they don't have a microwave, or ice machine or refrigerator in the room or in the hotel for general use.

If you interest is to stay in a good location, specially for a weekend....this is the best place/$$ option...BUT try to stay in the hotel just to sleep since there nothing to do there. Some important aspects to keep in mind: - No clock/radio in the room. - TV Channels are just a few (most of them national TV). - The Hotel is not responsible for your things in the room...yes it's true there was sign around the hotel with this message...for this reason they recommend to leave your valuables on security boxes...honestly that sounds serious for me...any way I leave my valuable things (laptops and others) in the lobby. In general staff was very kind...

The standard of cleanliness seemed OK until I found the maid cleaning the bathroom by scooping water out of the toilet and swabbing it around on the floor. When I checked out I found four extra phone calls on my bill, rather expensive calls to a mobile phone, and it took them a while to rectify the bill. The calls were made at a time when I wasn't in my room, so either it was fraud or a mistake of their machine and they were quick to say it must have been the machine. There must be better budget hotels in Mexico City than this. Try to find one of them.

It would be nice if they made it clear that they charge you to use the internet there.

This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is good for the money. I got a room for 4 people, and we had two bathrooms! That was great.

The hotel is very old and it smell musty. I didn't like to at all. The room was not comfortable.

The hotel was in a perfect location close to Zocalo and Zona Rossa. The staff were outstanding and always helpful. Although only a few spoke English they went out of their way to help. The hotel was run down and the furniture and carpet were worn out, however, The towels and sheets were clean. The hotel is not air conditioned and rooms have no fans. Since it was the rainy season the evenings were cool and were able to sleep with the window open. If you do not carry your laptop you will have little access to email. The only computer in the hotel did not work. LJM

The service was nice. The internet access was not working and was quite frustrating. The hotel resteraunt offers a breakfast and dinner buffet, for a decent price and it is good, but there is not menu to order a la carte. The hotel also was ridiculous about visitors coming in and was very strict about how many people were staying in the room and if friends came to visit they had to leave an ID at the text. I thought it was a little overboard, but overall it was an alright location for the price. I wouldn't pay more than $40 or $50 for a room there though. The hotel was a little outdated. The location is great for the tourist things like the museums and the zocalo, all of which are within walking distance.

the staff were very courteous and helpful. The sheets were white fresh and clean, otherwise the most basic of hotels, but since its so cheap you cant expect anymore. Its somewhere to sleep very cheap, but since its location is not great its better to find somewhere else.

This hotel was in an excellent location to see all the historic district. We walked to the Palace of Fine Arts. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was not large but suitable for the price, and the beds were comfortable. No air conditioning and the evenings were cool enough not to need it. Can hear neighbors if they are noisy, but they also tone it down when asked nicely. They even had entertainment in the bar in the evening. Food in the restaurant was good. In all we enjoyed the hotel experience and would go back in a minute.

the hotel was in a great location, close to Chapultepec, bordering the beautiful neighborhoods of condesa and roma, and only a 5 min walk to the metro (which connected easily to all the other lines), but that is as far as I would go to state positivity. the rooms were very small and the carpet looked like it had not been vacumed in days. The air circulation was almost non-exsistant, and when I told them I wanted to switch rooms because of a bug problem in my room, they told me I should tell them before 1 pm, but if i smoked the mosqitos would go away (who says that?!) The price was very low, but I expected at least a fan or netting on the windows. If you are on a budget and dont plan on staying at the hotel for long periods of time then this is a good place, but i would choose something else the next time in in DF.

This hotel was actually pretty nice. The dining room however, was a bit dumpy (broken furniture and dirty tables taking a bit too long to be cleared away resulting in a few flies) We got a HUGE room with a decent view of the city, it was centrally located, and quite safe! The only a few things we weren't happy with: The listing that this hotel offered services in English was false. Everybody except one very nice guy who left at the end of each day (so not very available) spoke no English at all. Made it difficult at times to navigate our needs. But on the positive it made us have to step up and polish our Spanish. The other thing was the taxi service of the hotel. We thought the drivers worked for the hotel but were actually some local folks the hotel "knew" who ended up almost tripling the price of the fare!!! I know everybody says not to get cabs on the street, but during the daytime and early evening this worked WAY better and was far cheap than what the hotel procured.

The hotel employees were one of the best. They gave great customer service, spoke english well, and very helpful when I needed directions to go places. The rooms were very clean, and they provided clean rooms. Unfortunately, with the price you pay, it comes with various flaws. First, the guest rooms did not have air conditioner, so I had take a cold shower before going to bed and sleep shirtless with the windows open. Hair dryer is available in the lobby, with a 200 pesos deposit, which is about 20 U.S. dollars. Having your windows open at night isn't exactly helping, due to the loud, car noise from the outside. Secondly, the free Wifi is only good when you are in the lobby and you cannot get signal when you're in the room, so its obviously an inconvenience. Lastly, during one of the days I was in the hotel, the power came out for about an hour, therefore I could not use the elevator and had to walk up the steps, I could not use the wifi internet. The nearest subway station is about 4 blocks away. it may not seem far, but it would seem it is when your hotel room does not have air conditioner. I think you can find a better hotel with the same price, however, regardless of the great and friendly staff, I would not recommend this hotel specially if you are visiting Mexico City in the summer time.

Good location, very good price. The staff are courteous as well. But of course, the hotel is old, dont expect anything fancy. My main complaint was the noise at night. There seemed to be some sort of construction going on below at the parking area, I guess, but I know there wasnt any. There sounded like machinery going on vehicles honking, etc., so I just tried to ignore it. Otherwise, for the price and location (near the Zona Rosa, Paseo de la Reforma), if you're jus looking for a hole in the wall to creep into at night, this place is OK.

Hotel ok for the price. the staff is just friendly if you do not ask too much to them. for ex. I don{t speak spanish and I ask for help in order to make a reservation in the next town I was going to. The staff were hardly willing to help me.

i believ i excelent for the money, vry comfortable, clean and loved the style and have a excelent ubcation, hat you can walk to center and facility to move in the city

I felt very comfortable in this hotel. The staff was very helpful. The price is very economical and my expectations were exceeded. Not the newest hotel, but very clean and classy.

For those who use a hotel room only for sleep and shower it's just fine. Staff was courteous and helpful. Neighborhood was acceptable and access to points of interest is reasonable.

the hotel is good located and very cheap, but it needs serious improvements. the carpets and walls are very stained and the cleaning of the room is nearly null. I wouldnt recomend it if you might stay long in the room.

I would say it was, in a way, better than I expected. Staff wasn't friendly, but was efficient and that's what you need, isn't it? The room was big,clean. I got a suite for very little. Not that I needed it, since I just came back at night for the shower, the bed and a little TV. I am glad I selected it

The price and people make this prim a great place

The hotel was in a great and central area- the hotel isn't five stars but it does meet all your needs. For the amount of money I paid- it's definitely a good hotel and would reccomend.

the hotel was ok.. not as the pictures show it. it was ok for the price i paid. people at the front desk were not too curteous.but again, for the price, it was not too bad.

The staff are most helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a bit old but clean. It's a good place to stay when you're on a budget and it is close to Reforma, the main avenue.

Nice hotel for people who want a good, cheap and convenient place to stay

This was my second stay at Hotel Prim. I was very happy with the services I received. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.

Pros: Large room, reasonably clean and quiet,good location,inexpensive. Cons: undistinguished, very poor restaurant facility, elementary services. Recommended only if you are on a budget.

Propre, confortable, personnel accueillant a la reception. A proximite du Paseo de la Reforma, du Bosque de Chapultepec, de plusieurs cinemas et fast foods.

Extremt obekväma sängar, mycket ljud, överlag skumma gäster (man börjar undra när man ser skyltar som varnar för AIDS på hotellrummet) m.m.

Cet hôtel sans être en plein centre historique de Mexico est un excellent pied à terre dans cette ville . Le rapport qualité prix surtout quand on réserve par internet est très bon. Par le métro à partir de la ligne 1 la rue Versalles est à 2minutes quand on sort à la station CUAUHTEMOC (point qui n'est pas précisé dans la situation de l'hôtel) . A choisir quand on n'est pas adepte des palaces 4 etoiles.

Relativt sentralt, et par kvartaler fra Reforma, mellom Sona Rosa og Centro Historico. Det hotellet mangler i sjarm oppveies delvis av rimelig pris og bra fasiliteter.

Hotel Prim is a very cheap hotel. However, the service and cleaness are ok. I had to nights at the hotel and the only thing that was not good was that the internet worked very poorly and that it was very cold in the hotel room. Besides that Hotel Prim was just fine. I would recommend it if you need something cheap.

Chambre trop petite et tv de qualité médiocre.Personnel acceuillant et sympatique

Hotel Prim heeft zeer vriendelijk personeel aan de receptie. Er is altijd wel iemand in de buurt die Engels spreekt. Proberen je te helpen waar het kan. De bedden zijn prima, de inrichting zeer ouderwets. Bij onze verlenging werden we geholpen om te boeken bij Hotels.com omdat daar onze oorspronkelijke prijs geboden werd. Kortom: service uitstekend! Uiterlijk heel wat minder. Maar Hotel Prim is een veilige plek op loopafstand van het historisch centrum. Value for money.
