Boscolo Park Hotel - Nice

I was a bit disappointed with this hotel. First we had trouble at reception as they would not believe that i had paid up front for the hotel on hotels.com (had to try and phone hotels.com - although my phone wasn't working properly from abroad so struggled with that) - luckily the manager came over and cleared everything up with receptionist in the end. However the staff other than that confusion were very nice and helpful and the foyer was very nice looking. The room however was a let down - it was clean enough but for the cost and the supposed 4 stars it was very basic. View from back of hotel is not very 'nice' (had a dead pigeon on a ledge!), plus we booked a double room yet had 2 single beds... so overall it was a comfortable enough stay as we were only there for 2 nights but just a bit disappointing and I think you could get the same type of room for a lot less money.

Walking into the hotel, I was very pleased. The lobby was beautiful and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The staircase was in terrible disrepair as several tiles were loose, cracked or missing, the marble steps were also cracked. The missing and loose tiles are a cheap and easy fix with a little cement and is something that should not be overlooked for a "4 star" hotel. I thought the room was a decent size, especially coming from Paris, where our room was much much smaller. The furniture and decor of the room was very dated. The mini fridge was from the 70's and dirty inside. The bed was not very comfortable, nor were the pillows. The bathroom, like the room was outdated, with several broken tiles that looked as if they were falling off the wall, the fan vent had a huge amount of dust on it, the shower was leaking from the shower door and was a little moldy. We were in the back of the hotel so it was quiet with no view, but was not a big deal since as soon as you walk out, you are facing the water. The location was excellent as it was close to the many cafes, restaurants, the beach and bus station, and a short walk to Castle Hill. Breakfast was VERY expensive. 20 euro per person per day for standard foods. Right behind the hotel, there are dozens of cafes serving croissants and coffee for about 5 euro, or an American breakfast with an omelet croissant juice and coffee for about 10 euro. Much better value, and this is what we chose every morning, and were very happy with the decision. In general, we overlooked the bad since the hotel was in a great location and didn't have much of a choice. I am not sure if all the Hotels in Nice have similar issues and it is just to be expected since it is such a touristy area.

Great location for beach,shopping and restaurants. Very expensive parking and breakfast.

This hotel was rated as 4-star; however we were not pleased at all with the condition of the hotel once we passed the lobby section. The hallway flooring to our room was lop-sided and uneven. The room was more like a 2-star hotel with lots of mold in the bathroom. There was not a lot of walking area in the room since there is a big table right at the bottom of the bed. There was lots of stain on the carpet. We were so dissatisfied with the condition of the room. The air-condition did not work very well and it was very stuffy in the room.

We went to Nice for the beginning of Carnival and the hotel was directly across the street from where all the activity was. It sits 1 block from the beaches, 1 block from the shopping areas, and within a 0.25 mile of the historic old town district with the farmers market, more shopping, bars, and hilltop castle. ... all well within walking distance. The staff was extremely helpful and curteous, rooms spacious and clean. Excellent views from ocean front rooms! Continental breakfast was definitely above average but could be better with more variety. Overall an excellent hotel!!!

Excellent location. The rest was average at best. If the four stars at the enrance was for real they have changed the criteria a lot the past year. If compared with three star hotels it was above average.

Ligger helt perfekt tæt på Place Massena, den gamle bydel samt strandpromenaden. Venligt personale. Små værelser - ikke 4 stjernet - men pænt og rent

Dejligt hotel i forhold til pris og beliggehed. Eneste lidt negative vurdering vedr. morgenmad. Denne for ringe og for dyr.
